Evidence-Based System
Our system is based upon the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines, an evidence-based model to use in conducting threat assessments in K-12 schools
PeerTect was founded in 2018 to provide a research based threat risk management and intervention solution to combat the rapidly rising instances of school violence.
According to NCES:
Our mission is to provide educators and administrators with the necessary tools to properly indentify, assess and intervene in these situations to provide reasonable assurance of a safer educational setting for all students in the United States.
While no system can absolutely predict all incidences of violence, our system has been recognized by school districts and government officials to provide the most efficient means of providing early recognition of precipitating factors and behaviors in the education setting.

Obtain a detailed account of the threat, usually by interviewing the person who made the threat, the intended victim, and other witnesses. Write the exact content of the threat and key observations by each party. Consider the circumstances in which the threat was made and the student’s intentions. Is there communication of intent to harm someone or behavior suggesting intent to harm?
Is the threat an expression of humor, rhetoric, anger, or frustration that can be easily resolved so that there is no intent to harm? Does the person retract the threat or offer an explanation and/or apology that indicates no future intent to harm anyone?
For all substantive threats:
Document the plan. Maintain contact with the student. Monitor whether plan is working and revise as needed.
Implement an Intervention Plan and engage stakeholders in the Student's health and safety.
PeerTect offers a flexible modular evidence-based application that provides support in recognition of threats and behaviors in the following areas:
Assessments of students who makes threats of violence or exhibit harmful, threatening or violent behavior towards others
Assessments of students who exhibit bullying behaviors such as verbal, social or physical bullying towards others
Assessments of students who makes threats of self-harm or exhibit behavior consistent with the potential for self-harm
